Meal Prep BOSS

Saucy Meal Prep for
Casual Foodies

Delicious food doesn’t have to be hard or complicated.
You don’t need a bunch of fancy tools or techniques, and you don’t need to be a trained chef.

I know I know, meal prep sounds so boring and lame...

One of my favorite content creators, Tim Laelli, always says meal prep is a cult. Which makes me laugh, because I get it. The idea of meal prep can be so rigid and disciplined. Like bruh, I am not eating chicken & broccoli 5 nights in a row. If that works for you, great. But that’s not the vibe around here.

This is where meal prep is

delicious, easy & fun!

As a foodie first, flavor is my top priority. So when it comes to meal prep, I refuse to cut corners on the quality or taste of my food. Sayonara to the days of boring and bland meal plans. And hello to saucy, flavorful meals that will light up your taste buds and get you excited to be in the kitchen!

"How do you make your food taste
so good?"

Without thinking, the words just fell out of my mouth: seasoning, sauces, and toppings! That’s when I realized the 3 components I use in almost every meal.

I affectionately call them my 3 secret weapons. They’re nothing new or extremely innovative. In fact, they are pretty basic concepts. But they are the simplest ways to elevate ANY meal. And when applied properly, they can take any dish from basic to bomb!

Seasonings

A seasoning is anything that elevates the flavor of a dish. Salt, pepper, herbs, spices, oils, and acid (citrus & vinegar). Seasoning is the first and most important rule of cooking and making food taste good. Without seasoning, particularly salt (the most powerful flavor enhancer)  your food will be boring and bland. Using a combination of marinades, dry rubs, and/or simple seasoning techniques like salt and a squeeze of lemon, you will be well on your way to making flavor packed meals with ease!

Sauces

Sauce is where it all started for me. Dry food is the bane of my existence, which is why sauce is the foundation of the Meal Prep BOSS system. And my theory is that you can make anything taste good if you have a delicious sauce. It’s the best way to add tons of flavor, moisture, and elevate any dish. Lock down your sauce game and you will quickly become a BOSS in the kitchen!

Toppings

Toppings can be anything that add extra texture and flavor to a dish. They can be a large component to a dish like a crunchy slaw, relish, or pickled veggie. Or just the finishing touch to complete dishes like fresh cilantro and squeeze of lime over tacos, or a crouton to add texture in silky soup. Think of toppings as anything that adds extra flavor, texture, and pizazz!

LIVE

   &

RELAX

Life is too short to panic about every little thing that goes into our body.

The 80/20 Rule

There’s a lot to be said about the impact of stress from over analyzing everything we eat. The 80/20 rule is simple. Make wise choices about food 80% of the time. And allow yourself the space to indulge the other 20%. Sometimes you gotta eat the cake and not think twice!

Progress Not Perfection

This philosophy is so important, particularly when you are just beginning your journey to be the BOSS of your health.

1. Small changes equal big wins over time.

2. Focus on 1 or 2 changes until they become comfortable and your new norm.

Then, add in something new.
